Who we are

StriveSide is a global running companion app developed by Unicorn Empire. Our mission is simple: nobody should have to run alone. We help runners worldwide feel connected, motivated, and supported — wherever they are.

What information we collect

Information you provide:

• Your name (first name only, used to personalise your experience)
• Your email address (used only for login — we send a one-time code, no passwords)

Information collected automatically when you use the app:

• Your approximate location (geohash — a regional area, not your exact address) when you start a run
• Run data: duration and distance
• Device type and app version (for technical support only)
• Country (detected automatically from your IP address to show your flag)

What we do NOT collect:

• Your exact GPS coordinates are never stored
• We do not collect your phone number
• We do not collect payment information directly (handled securely by Apple or Google)
• We do not collect any data about children specifically — our app treats all users equally

How we use your information

• To show your approximate location as an anonymous dot on the live world map during your run
• To display your run history in your personal Strivory tab
• To send you your login code via email
• To calculate your trial period and subscription status
• To show how many runners are active globally in real time
• To understand long-term usage patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your data for any purpose other than running the app and improving it.

Location data

Location is the heart of StriveSide. Here is exactly how it works:

• We only collect your location when you actively start a run
• We store your location as a geohash — a regional code that represents a large area (roughly city-level), never your exact street or address
• Your location dot on the map is anonymous — other users cannot identify who you are or where exactly you are
• When your run ends, your location dot is removed from the live map
• We retain location data associated with completed runs to help us understand how runners use the app globally over time

On iOS, we request "Always" location permission to track your run when your screen is locked. On Android, we request background location permission for the same reason. You can change this at any time in your device settings.

Children and young users

StriveSide is designed for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any additional data from users under 13. The app does not contain any age-restricted content. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the European Union. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Your email address and name are stored securely and never exposed to other users.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Update your name at any time within the app
• Withdraw location permissions at any time via your device settings

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app grows. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
